Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show is set to return to CBS on the 5th of August to begin the 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, when she was both moderator as well as host. She was a journalist before becoming host, but her love of writing was for the written word. It actually earned the show an Emmy. In addition, she won the Emmy for hosting and outstanding television talkshow. Her background in news has helped her transition to The Talk, which examines current events and problems through the lens that of female hosts.Chen Moonves served as co-host of CBS News' weekday morning show The Early Show from 2002 through 2010. Before that, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor as well as the news anchor for The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. In Cairo, she scoured down and interviewed the father who led the hijackers in an eye-opening and captivating interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the Queen Rania of Jordan as well as the former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities like Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter, who has profiled stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton in Dayton Ohio (1995-1997). Previous jobs included working as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) and all the while completing her final year of university from The University of Southern California. Her first job in broadcasting as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the primetime special that won the Columbia du-Pont award and focused on the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
